Rant 01 - RPGs

To give some of you an understanding of what this page is, you would have to understand Role-Playing Games. Y'know, those heinous contraptions that have infected the minds of our youth for two decades now? Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, Shadowrun, all that. Terrible, hideous things.

Things that have filled a neccesary portion of my life. We recently looked and found that these games formed the backdrop of my best friendships. Simply put, all of my good friends play. Don't get me wrong, I've got plenty of friends that I don't play RPGs with. But they aren't the ones I hang out with on a regular basis.

I get so irritated when people give these games a bad rap. I could go on about how it's not as bad as everyone thinks, how those few who have taken it too far could've taken their laundry too far if left alone, but why? I don't like debates and I will not create one if possible. There are plenty of people in this world who can do that for me.

But I will say this. These are games of the imagination. I have so much fun creating and acting out scenes for these games. Not every one of us creative joes out there has the ability to draw or paint, or the success and stamina to write fiction. But this form of improv acting and fantasy can most definitely be considered an art form in my opinion.

So anyway, those of you who are bored enough to stop by and read this portion of my pages, thank you. I will have changing insights over the time, ranging on a wide variety of subject matter. Please stop by again, and feel free to respond or rebuff to what I've said here.
